THANK YOU SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN
for Supporting our 10th annual Walk About Talk About Autism!!!

We were so amazed by the support from families, friends, businesses and members of our community.  We had over 585 registered adult walkers plus kids, volunteers and sponsors!  It was a beautiful day to come together and show our support for individuals and families affected by autism in our community.  All proceeds from this walk stay here in southwest Michigan to benefit individuals and families affected by autism through support groups, educational programming and recreational/community opportunities.

THANK YOU TO THIS YEAR'S WALK SPONSORS!

ROI Great Lakes Autism Center for Treatment and Research

On Monday, January 9, 2012 Trina Wood president, Kris Bodine vice president and Danny Fielding treasurer represented the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek Autism Society at the "wall breaking" ceremony of ROI's Great Lakes Autism Center for Treatment and Research. Trina gave a very moving speech highlighting how autism affects the whole family and how this center will be a great resource for early intervention, language processing and social skills training.  Please click on the link for the full front page article in the Kalamazoo Gazette.  Our very own board member, Danny Fielding, made the front page!   Click here for article

On December 16, 2011 the KWINGS teamed up with the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek Chapter of the Autism Society for a fundraiser to support families and individuals affected by autism.  Thank you to all who came out to support our organization at this fun event!  We had a great time cheering on the KWINGS, selling chuck-a-pucks and bringing some autism awareness to Wings Stadium!  We'd like to thank the KWINGS and Wings Stadium for giving our organization this opportunity.

A special thanks goes out to Pi Kappa Phi, a fraternity from WMU, for volunteering for this fundraiser!  They did a wonderful job helping with the sale of chuck-a-pucks! Pictured left are: Tyler Sauer, Riley Richards, Colin Engel and Maurice Sanders.

Funds generated from this fundraiser will go toward providing family fun events, educational workshops and programs for those affected by autism in our community.
